Client Requirement

Create an entertaining space for both small intimate gatherings and large parties, allow year round seating in an enclosed contemporary low maintenance space…. We need height to protect the windows from bird strikes and colour to ignite the senses.

The Project

Utilising beautiful 80 plus year old olive trees to give the space, perspective and height worked incredibly well balancing the scale of the oak dining structure.  These were underplanted with Lavender and heuchera for all year round colour.

The paving was created with 2 types of porcelain paving framing the different areas and giving a low maintenance surface that complimented the composite decking that ran round the perimeter of the property.  Being a non absorptive material, the porcelain will not grow algae and lichens which traditionally cause slabs to discolour.

The walls were clad in the porcelain slabs aswell to give the seamless transition and not require the ongoing painting of rendered walling.

To complete the whole effect, lighting was introduced throughout to ensure that the space can be used well into the wee hours for relaxing and entertaining.
